After South Korea, I went to Tokyo, Japan! It was an awesome experience... My first stop was to this giant Gundam statue...

South Korea Part VI: Jeonju

I was suggested to go to GYEONGJU to be surrounded by historical Korea by some students and friends of mine...instead I went to JEONJU by accident. Which was actually a great experience! I stayed in a traditional Hanok-style village and ate possibly the best Korean food I have ever tasted in my entire life. I will go back just for the food and atmosphere!

Here are some sketches...but I regretably didn't sketch much of the village itself. Instead here are some coffee shops that were in Jeonju.

There's a train station near Seoul called Central Station...a great place for sketching! This was in a burger joint inside.

Garusugil was great people watching, a lot of younger people going out and partying...but here's a few from some 24 hour coffee shops at 4 in the morning...

Here's a drinking place where I ordered a feast to myself...earlier that evening at 2 in the morning!

So used to long rides on Bart, I was not prepared for the rushed quick sketching on S. Korea's complex subway system. I got a lot of glares of disapproval; and I thought people in the Bay Area didn't appreciate getting drawn!

South Korea Part II: Cheonggyecheon River

On my way for some shopping in Dongdaemun, I came across a live concert taking place right on the Cheonggyecheon River. It was a great place for some people-watching, but I unfortunately had to make it quick since it was getting dark.

Long Time No See...South Korea Part I: Itaewon

It's been a while since I've updated this blog...I've been pretty busy with my last two projects at work and now that I'm on vacation, I thought it'd be a great time to revive this place with some sketches.

Kind of frustrating that it's been so long that I've gotten quite rusty, but I hope to sketch a lot more from now on. After I wrapped on my last assignment, I immediately took off to reunite with some family in South Korea, and then went to Japan for the first time. I found some time to sketch during my touring of these countries, and wanted to share them with you. Thanks in advance for coming by and paying me a visit=)
