Japan Part VI: The Return Home
I sketched as much as I could but I have to admit that in the long run I succumbed to site-seeing. I wish I had learned some Japanese before coming here so I would be more "free" to draw. It was an adventure and hope to do it again soon!
The bottom half of this page are from when I returned to the states...you may be able to tell because people don't tip in Korea and Japan=)

Japan Part V: The Ghibli Museum
One of the highlights of my trip to Japan was definitely going to the Ghibli Museum. A huge fan of Miyazaki and animation in general I was completely lost inside and did not want to leave! I didn't have much time to sketch...and even when I did I found myself feeling very guilty of drawing instead of admiring the artwork that was already there. It was so inspirational. I only sketched in the museum's cafe...I couldn't do it inside, just way too much to marvel at!

Japan Part IV: Monkey Park
While staying near Kyoto, I went to Arashiyama where in the mountains is a Monkey Park....where they are free to roam about, uncaged and unleashed. I got attacked by a few of them after getting a bit too close and included an action pic of one lunging after me...keep in mind it was my mistake and I deserved it...

Japan Part I: Gundam in Diver City
After South Korea, I went to Tokyo, Japan! It was an awesome experience... My first stop was to this giant Gundam statue...

South Korea Part VI: Jeonju
I was suggested to go to GYEONGJU to be surrounded by historical Korea by some students and friends of mine...instead I went to JEONJU by accident. Which was actually a great experience! I stayed in a traditional Hanok-style village and ate possibly the best Korean food I have ever tasted in my entire life. I will go back just for the food and atmosphere!
Here are some sketches...but I regretably didn't sketch much of the village itself. Instead here are some coffee shops that were in Jeonju.
There's a train station near Seoul called Central Station...a great place for sketching! This was in a burger joint inside.
...and here's some more Tom N Tom Coffee Sketches...

South Korea Part V: Garusugil
Garusugil was great people watching, a lot of younger people going out and partying...but here's a few from some 24 hour coffee shops at 4 in the morning...
Here's a drinking place where I ordered a feast to myself...earlier that evening at 2 in the morning!

South Korea Part IV: Subways
So used to long rides on Bart, I was not prepared for the rushed quick sketching on S. Korea's complex subway system. I got a lot of glares of disapproval; and I thought people in the Bay Area didn't appreciate getting drawn!
